As I was heading out Washington D.C I decided to come here to grab a quick bite. It was packed but I got a seat in less than 10mins. My server was friendly, attentive and answered all of my questions nicely! The food was delicious. Came out quickly and everything was well seasoned. I enjoyed my time here and would come again! The parking lot was tight though so please be careful when finding a spot.
Loved this place so much we went back twice during our week stay. Everything that was supposed to be crispy was crispy. Everything that was suppose to be moist was moist. All of it had good color. The prices were reasonable. The staff was attentive and just wanted you to have a good time. It was a bit weird walking through the front store area to find a restaurant but also made us feel like we found a hidden gem. Wish we would have known about the outside patio. We are not from the area but if we ever come back we will visit again.
Just had an awesome meal at Parkway Deli and Restaurant! I went for the roasted turkey sandwich with a bunch of veggies, toasted just right, and a side of French fries. Let me tell you, the sandwich was amazing! The turkey was super tender and packed with flavor, and the fresh veggies added a nice crunch. The toasting gave it that perfect crispy edge that made every bite so satisfying. Now, about those fries – yeah, they were 5, which is a bit on the pricey side, but totally worth it. They were crispy on the outside, soft on the inside, and they gave me a big portion, so I didn’t feel shortchanged at all. Overall, the portions were huge, and the food was seriously good. If you’re looking for a place to get a hearty, delicious meal, I definitely recommend checking out Parkway Deli and Restaurant!
Been going to the Parkway Deli for over 35 years. The food is always great and plenty. That’s why they keep everybody coming back. The service is outstanding and the atmosphere always make me feel at home. The free pickle bar is a must, and so are the desserts. A jewel in Chevy Chase!
This place felt like stepping through a portal into an old school NYC style deli/diner. The dining area is towards the back of the store and is definitely worth checking out because those who dine in have access to the pickle bar (which is a must if you order a pastrami reuben). If you don’t dine in, you’ll have to pay per pound for the pickle bar. Their pastrami reuben was really tasty, albeit maybe a tad bit too salty by the time you get to the last few bites. This is why getting pickles is critical. The acidity cuts down on the richness of the deli meat. The matzoh ball soup was delicious! Highly recommend ordering this soup on a cold day. The dessert selection and prices were very reasonable. I ordered the chocolate mint pie and though I wish there was more chocolate mint filling, it was still very good. The service was fast, so it’s an ideal place to eat if you’re in a hurry. Perfect spot to bring the family.
Neighborhood restaurant with a lively atmosphere and varied menu! we ordered the pastrami Reuben, the Italian sandwich, and the Mac and cheese! big portions - I think the Reuben was our favourite thing and could have been split! Pickle bar available when you eat inside is great!
The Parkway Deli experience is remarkable. It was packed when I visited at 12:30 pm on a Wednesday—and worth the wait. I was glad to have the vegan matzo ball soup, an unexpected version of an old favorite. The pickle bar was fantastic—it’s hard to find those half-sour dill pickles and the sauerkraut was great. Speedy and friendly service. It was like being back in New York. I liked the buzzy, high-energy atmosphere (but it’s probably not what people expect if they’ve looking for “atmosphere”!
The food was excellent and the service was spot on. Even on the hottest day of the year, the air conditioning was great. The deli side sells a good variety of food and very tasty desserts.
